Busy, Busy, Busy. That pretty much sums up our Christmas. Thomas and I counted, and we realized that we participated in seven Christmases. Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn have nothing on us! We had fun at them all, of course, and they are all very different gatherings, but it is hard to imagine how we are going to keep this same pace next year when we have our 2nd kiddo offically in the family picture.
One of the many Christmases was our own, just our little family of 3.
Daniel got a few train items, which he loved, as well as a car pillow. I was thoroughly "surprised" by a sweater from Thomas. Thomas got some nice items too, including a hard to find DVD that he had been wanting. At each and every Christmas, Daniel wanted to hand out the gifts. He did a great job, and if anyone appeared to be empty handed, he was likely to take one from someone with more than one and make sure that everyone had something.
We were blessed to have our choices of edibles from a cornucopia of food--just look at one of the supplies to the left!
Seeing Daniel with his cousins was nice too. Being that he sees his
Shepherd cousins the most, he is especially fond of them.
Time with family is always a feature of Christmas, and it was nice to have my brother
John in from California, as well as having my other brother Damien in town from all his work's world travels.
Thomas got to see his sisters as well, both of which are more local than my bros, but it is nice to see them nonetheless. It's really hard to tell that they are related, isn't it.
We are very thankful for our time at each place with each group of loved ones, and we are especially thankful for the reason behind the season, Jesus. Without acknowledging him, the get-togethers are just more of reunions rather than true celebrations.
We hope your family had a very Merry Christmas as well!
